Relocate one existing light switch vertically or a few inches horizontally WITHIN the same stud bay (e.g., raise/lower for accessibility or furniture clearance): cut in new old-work box, extend existing conductors with code-compliant splices, install device and plate, and blank-cover the old box. Assumes drywall interior wall, same stud bay only, and existing cable has enough slack or accepts an accessible junction. Includes rough drywall cut only — finish patch, texture, and paint are EXCLUDED. Crossing studs, fire-blocked bays, insulated exterior walls, and plaster walls are excluded and visit-quoted.
